1 Danny Jacobs fight and it's practically an even fight.

if you analyze the details, nothing has changed. Jacobs is a better fighter than Canelo at 160. Jacobs is bigger, faster and way more powerful. lmao

and Chavez was dead at that weight.
      I kinda agree here.

Folks are making a lot of assumptions that dont make sense, extrapolating things from the Jacobs fight that can't or won't apply when Lil g and Canelo do it.

If, for example, Canelo had stopped Jr. or had him down or even seriously hurt Jr we'd know Saul had enough power to make Lil g respect him.

As it is, we don't know if Jr respected Canelo's power or simply entered the ring too drained to even contemplate going to war.

If we saw Jr. catch Canelo with some great shots and then see Saul walk thru them or take them well, we might have more of an idea how Canelo will take Lil g's shots.

      None of that happened.

And those factors happen to be the most important aspects of the match-up.

If Canelo can't make Lil g respect him, it won't matter how ordinary Lil g's skill level might be.

If Canelo can't take Lil g's power, it won't matter how good a boxer and counterpuncher Canelo is.

And none of that has changed in a year.

All we do know is that a fighter with skill, a decent chin, power, and movement can beat Lil g.

      Jacobs gave us that blueprint.

But, while we know Canelo has skill, it is unclear where he is at as far as the other three factors when it comes to middleweight.

GGG should be the slight favorite. Canelo is too skilled to he outclassed by anyone other than the greatest fighter of his generation

nope. Jacobs didn't have a single winning stat the whole fight. and he was downed. the exact opposite was the case in ward vs kov.

i wouldn't say Canelo is more skilled than GGG.

          GGG has more shot selection.

GGG has better footwork (Even last night, Chavez looked to have better legs, Canelo was following, not cutting etc)

          GGG has better offense, period.

GGG even has better defense by the #'s.

Now keep in mind, all these stats are GGG fighting top 10 and champions at 160.

Canelo is going in over his head.

In boxing it is. Fighters are separated by weight, not height and reach.

I don't know how anyone that has seen both fight can say Golovkin has more shot selection.
