I gave the boy his props on my thread Food For Thought On Malignaggi..., but if I was betting the house, im going with Cotto all night.Comment

Ya know, Ricardo Torres kept some power punching pressure on Cotto and even after that wild shoot out, he couldn't put Cotto away. So it's hard to believe Paulie talking about breaking him down. Though...I still style wise am picking Paulie to dance away with a decision. Look at Cory Spinks. The man is featherfisted and even he was able to take a decision out of the wild intimidating Mayorga. I'm sure Paulie thinks of all those boxers beating punchers matchups and it's his motivation or inspiration. Though he also talks like Cotto is a complete idiot when it comes to just throwing power punches. If Cotto can keep landing his left hook he will slow down Paulie which will take away Paulie's main advantage which is the speed. It's a hard pick for me and even though I'm going against Cotto on this one, I won't be blown away of if he wins of course. I just see upset written all over this one.Comment

Like Bozo said...the only way Cotto loses this **** is if he is clearly drained from trying to make 140. He's really suited for 147 at this point and his speed is being affected by making 140.
I still think Cotto blasts him out with a thorough beating to the body and head.Comment

Paulie Malignaggi isn't being serious at all with these claims. Malignaggi is a pure boxer whose brittle hands wouldn't stand up to him sitting down on his punches. Malignaggi is going to be a pure boxer moving around the ring, and he better be in great shape because he needs to do this all night long.
Cotto is a very strong junior welterweight with a crippling body attack. Malignaggi is going to have to flurry and move all night because he cannot handle Cotto to the ribs. He's going to have to take advantage of Cotto's defensive liabilities and move, and pray his right hand doesn't break. But I'll tell you this, Malignaggi will win this fight if it goes to the cards. Both fighters seem to be perfect foils for each other.Comment

I saw a highlight reel of this Paulie guy, and it suggests to me that Cotto is going to abuse Paulie.Comment
