2 years late but i take it, it will be a good fight, Canelo has improved and GGG got old, much closer than the mismatch it would have been 2 years ago. Still 100% convinced GGG beats him.

I think Jacobs, Charlo, even Lemieux power and size at this weight would give Canelo big problems. So realistically he and GBP had no where to go after this fight. Even at 154 you still had Charlo's and Andrade waiting...
TBH Canelo's career should be winding down at this point he started early and he should retire early. About 5-6 more fight Canelo should hang em up..
A guy that can't win ONE round off lil Floyd ain't beating Jacobs.
Jacobs would send Floyd to the hospital, and into our thoughts and prayers.

Canelo!!!!!
Jacobs was a decorated amateur who came into the Golovkin fight with just one loss and an 80%+ KO ratio. Against all odds, he recovered from cancer and came back to fight again when he was told he couldn't.
He won a championship and knocked out Peter Quillin, a legitimate middleweight opponent, in the first round of their fight.
Golovkin didn't look spectacular, but he knocked Jacobs down and won a competitive fight in which he faced a game opponent who opted not to participate in the same-day weigh-in for obvious reasons.
On the other hand, Canelo has mostly been fighting at catchweights and vacated the WBC middleweight title he won from a small and past-his-prime Cotto.
Chavez has a reputation as a lazy bum who doesn't take care of himself between fights, and there were real questions about whether he could get down to 164.5. Chavez's last two fights were 12 round UDs against unnotable opposition. His last name opponent was Andrzej Fonfara, who knocked him out.
In tonight's fight, Canelo managed to land nearly a third of his jabs and over 40% of his power shots against a fighter who clearly wasn't game, but Canelo couldn't even hurt Chavez and seemed content to spar with an opponent who supposedly lesser middleweights almost certainly would have hunted down and put on the canvas.
But GGG's competitive fight against a legitimate opponent was an exposure and the embarrassment of a fight tonight against a million-dollar tomato can was a glorious victory for Canelo?
Right.

Canelo wanted the fight but his team and promoter wanted to hold off as they wouldn't have to give up as much $$$ to lesser opponents. Fights is made. And those same fans were chanting Canelo at the end will be fully behind him now.
It was the only choice he had left.
and now, It's all over but the crying.
