    How Chavez Can Beat Canelo

Let me preface this by saying I highly, highly doubt Jr can pull this off.

    But there is a blueprint.

Obviously, Jr. cannot move like Floyd (or even Lara, if you think Canelo lost that fight, which I do not)

But, he CAN use his physical advantages to keep Canelo at bay.

    He must jab often.

He must be ready to step to either side when Canelo tries to close the gap and dig to the body as he does so.

Obviously he is not fleet of foot. But he can use a "matador" kind of approach, jabbing to keep Canelo outside then stepping to the side and/or clinching when it gets close.

He needs to keep this a distance fight the first 6-8 rounds and try to make Canelo expend energy while trading rounds.

In other words, he has to fight like Wlad did most of his career the first 2/3s of the fight

The last four, he can open up on a stamina diminished Canelo and either win more rounds or stop him late.

Let's see the defense that Nacho imposed and what was said.

B plan is to take Alvarez to the ropes. The ropes will have fans roaring and gain points for Chavez Jr. I foresee May vs Maidana type scoring.

Only way chavez beats Canelo is to fight inside and when clinching lean on him with all his weight and hope to tire Canelo out.

Other than that I don't see how. Canelo is a much better fighter.

I guess almost anything is possible but Chavez doesn't have a good left jab. I haven't noticed Canelo performing worse in the last 4 rounds due to diminished stamina. He has scored KOs in those last 4 rounds.

He needs to be the bigger man in that ring. Impose his weight, reach, and height advantage. From round 1 he needs to make it a phonebooth fight, and bully canelo around the ring. He can't let him breath or rest, and he needs to land on canelo wherever possible,to the head and body, and even the arms if necessary.

He needs to physically bully him onto the ropes while keeping his defence tight to avoid huge shots like the ones Smith, Kirkland and Angulo walked into, then **** away at his ribs and try to slip uppercuts through his guard

Jr. has the size and power to beat Canelo. Canelo has the pure ability to beat Jr.

Here's how it has to happen for Jr. to win.

First off, he needs to conserve energy.

Secondly, he needs to keep his guard up while minding the body. In this fight he can be the bully but he needs to be smart.

Thirdly, he needs to impose his will gradually while keeping his energy up.

Lastly, when the time is right, he needs to pour it on. If he waits until Canelo feels comfortable with his work rate and power, he needs to crank it up. We know Jr. can take Canelo's power but do we know if Canelo can take Jr's?

The prediction is Jr. by late TKO.

I know odds are Canelo wins but I'm being a believer in Jr's dedication to this fight and the size will be a factor. Jr. looks huge next to Canelo.

I agree with the jabbing, and boxing him in general. Problem is, Canelo can slip and counter jabs really well and Jr's are painfully slow. However, if Jr feints before striking, and stays outside, he might be able to give him problems.

                    Throw a lot of punches.

                    Shoulder roll also.

                    Hope the PEDs work
