Honestly I don't give HBO much credit. What have the really done to promote this fight? Give golden boy and haymon the credit for making the fight. But after that if the fight is successful it will be because of golden boy not HBO. This is the biggest fight of the year and they created just 1 24/7 show and a 15min face off. Not long ago HBO would give big fights up to 4 episodes of 24/7 that aired every week the final month before the fight. They also had a dead few months leading up with few other HBO fights. In the past more fights so more opportunities to keep telling fans I know you watching this fight but remember to order ppv next month.

Golden boy created all their own content to promote the fight. Made their own 24/7 type shows that they aired on their own platforms including espn narrated by Michael buffer. They cut a deal with ESPN that allowed them to air fights the weeks and months leading up to the fight where every 10mins they remind you to order the ppv. They have a deal with Tecate and strategic line of canelo national commercials with Stallone that aired the months leading up to the fight on networks that don't even air sports. ESPN aired the weighin NOT HBO which was produced by Oscar own R!ngTV crew. Same with he non ppv undercard which streams live on R!ngTV and ESPN. Interviews, promos, fights to promote the PPV all created by golden boy not HBO.

The fight will be a success despite HBO lack of support not because it.
