Thats the whole point you don't realize, what a fighter chooses to weigh on fight night is irrelevant, both fighters have to make weight, draining yourself evens things out regardless of what weight one chooses to enter the ring. Theres too many millions of semantics & situations that come into play in these situations, because if a fighter drains himself & makes 155 or 154 theres a limit to how much weight ends up having any potential benefits, with the taller fighters benefitting depending on chosen weight class,as speed is a huge factor in all fights. If canelo goes up in weight, that doesn't mean his fight night weight will increase, theres millions of variables. If fighters like gigi who are naturally taller than canelo choose to rehydrate around 2-4 lbs higher than canelo despite being in a 6 lb higher division & several inches taller, it's because they dont want to lose speed, have solid chin &/ or many times have defensive styles or just simply dont benefit from extra weight as their already solid. I think canelo will remain at almost the same fight night weight hes always had,no matter what weight he chooses to fight @. His ideal weight would never exceed 178 lbs maximum on the extreme as since hes not going to be forced to make weight hell be able to just compress that weight more in muscle, before now he never has had the chance to gain permanant 5 extra lbs of muscle, since hes going to only have to boil down 5 lbs less now @mw,I predict hell start rehydrating to about 174 as when fighters gain too much weight after weigh ins many times its a sign of indiscipline,as the less body fat you have the less weight you need to gain after weigh in.

I honestly think canelo is going to start becoming a lil more defensive as he goes up in weight,as he wont be slower on his feet than many middleweights unlike jmw's hes been fighting,he looks slow on his feet at times because hes fighting slick speed fighters who stick & move, some of whom are the best in the business, but @ mw theres guys as slow or slower on their feet because many will outweigh him. Hes only 5'9,theres huge guys like charlo who are @mw,or gigi, saunders etc.Comment

Remember though canelos one of the highest percentage of combos in the business, with accuracy similar to mayweathers percentage certain fights, but much more power shots. And many people don't realize canelos not a brawler hes a counter puncher above all else. And he destroys fighters bodies, he has several kos or kds to the body, insane amount of combos in every fight,He likes to parry punches & counter, thats how he opens em up to the counter ko,hes kod several fighters on the counter,so that's exactly what hes going to do to jr,hell counter time him to death, Jrs going to try to be aggressive early, bernistain m.o. to a tee. Canelos going to be elusive & potshot him with combos until jrs eyes are swollen & bloody,& little by little canelos going to become more aggressive until he stops jr late in the 9th,jr will have a few moments throughout also but he wont be able to handle the asswhooping from a far better timed fighter above all esle. I think the ref will stop it.Comment
