Much smaller, old Cotto, Glass-jawed Khan, Beefy who?, and now Underachieving Chavez Jr, who was just stopped 2 fights ago by an average Fonfara. Canelo on a good cherry roll!

GGG could of made $15,000,000 and fought an EASY opponenet (Says Sanchez and YOU) win, win. But that's NOT good enough. Right Casual Fan???

            Finally someone talks boxing.

I really thought Canelo shouldn't of put that much weight on. Sure he'll look good at first buy that extra weight won't help much in the later rounds IMO. I wanted to see him at 160-162. The body shots are going to be the difference. Chavez has a good chin. But losing the weight will make his body more weaker. Same for Chavez. Canelo has Great head movement so I don't think Chavez is going to get to many flush hits???

I think its a no lose situation for either guy. Chavez will have lost too much weight if he loses & Canelo will have gained too much weight if he loses. That's whats sorta perfect here for the fighter/promotional side & via that logic a rematch of a fight that does well PPV-wise + is at least some caliber of entertaining or competitive makes all the sense in the world.

Plus as mentioned both will take home nice paydays, very likely the best of both their careers, when its all said & done.

... I'm only a 'casual'... but I'm too old of age in order not to wait and watch what is actually happening into the ring -- especially in "unusual" contexts...

Can't see how this is a lose lose for Canelo unless of course he actually loses. It's a good payday and he wants to get back in the Mexican fans good books after giving up his middleweight belt. It's probably the best thing he could do for his image other than fighting Golovkin. Hopefully that will happen in September if Canelo can compromise. If he's serious about fighting G he may have to make some concessions on the purse split. I don't see it though.

The mgm arena was full for the weigh in. The t mobile stadium will be packed, Vegas is buzzing with the first real mega fight of the year, and Canelo will make minimum 15 million.
How is this a no win situation?
