This is a full win situation for Canelo. He will finally say he beat someone bigger, and he will either completely dominate or stop jr. He will make a lot of money while getting acclimated to fighting at a higher weight.

We need to remember Chavez jr was not his mandatory, and the boxing public was not asking for this fight. It was Canelo's team that chose this fight, and they knew very well what they were getting themselves into. No need to try and paint Canelo as some sort of victim here.

Yet he and Canelo have had remarkably similar career paths, both learning 'on the job', growing through the weights and facing similar levels of opposition along the way. Both have had their fair share of favourable results swing their way too. A "champ" must defend their title vs the top ranked opponent to be actual champ. So far gigi has only defended vs low ranked fighters,while he had numerous chances to become lineal,he couldve fought cotto @ 155 & became lineal but he chose to accept step aside money,what a *****,he couldve forced a purse bid with jacobs but kept extending it,he had chances to fight several top fighters but always goes after bums & nobodies instead. Yet you fanbois never say a word about that, or how he from his own mouth went on tv to say he can easily make 154,& that he wants to fight a retired "welter" for far less money than vs canelo. CANELO IS 10X BETTER THAN GIGI,his resume & age prove it.
