The Crawford fight took a lot out of him. But the layoffs also played a factor in his demise. There was a stretch where he fought only once in 28 months. A fighter of his style has to stay sharp and fight regularly.

Gamboa looked bad at the weigh in like he struggled to make weight he was dry and hes very muscle bound and at 35 its very hard to cut weight like that so I feel that had a major factor in last nights fight. He looked slow and nothing like the Gamboa of the past, but I feel he underestimated Castellanos who has pulled off some big upsets in the past as well and paid the price for keeping his hands low. Not a lot of fighters would have gotten up from that first KD it was clean on the money his legs bent and his head hit the canvas but he still got up and kept fighting just like he did with Crawford until he couldnt and everyone else whos dropped him. He obviously wasn't feeling well been boxing all his life so who more than him would know how his body feels, and if he says he was dizzy then I believe him hes never been one to quit or shy away from a challenge his body just didn't respond, he looked dizzy and almost about to faint at the weigh in, so maybe it is time for him to hang them up because hes too small for 135 and if he cant make 130 anymore healthy then there isn't much left for him.

Regardless people seem to forget this guy was a former Olympic gold medalist and 2 division champ who unified featherweight, its not his fault everyone ducked him in his prime he was willing to fight anyone and even moved up to lightweight to face bigger challenges, and even though he came up short he still tried and gave it his all in every fight. Thats the Gamboa im going to remember the one they kept Juan Manuel Lopez away from.

His last fight he dropped and was beating Oscar escandon who is now fighting for the title. Was on the way to winning until he got headbutt. He beat Caballero, rocky Juarez. You have to look at the names he's beat and when those loses came. 10 of his loses were early his career over 7 years ago when he was learning to fight. He is not a bum I said when the fight was announced this will be a tough fight and that gamboa could lose. Because I seen Castellanos fight and know who he has been in the ring with. If you just look at the win loss record you don't know that.
fair enough i dont know much about him just thought he cant be too sharp with that record, and fact that gamboa was a 1/20 favourite.

"Golden Boy Boxing on ESPN delivered two significant upsets in the main and co-main events on Cinco De Mayo, with lightweight Robinson "Robin Hood" Castellanos (22-11, 14 KOs) taking out Yuriorkis "El Ciclon de Guantnamo" Gamboa (26-2, 17 KOs)"

LOOOL Who the hell writes these articles? Castellenos has never fought at lw as far as I know, fought 14 months ago 2 weight divisions lower and was brought in to make Gamboa look good. Jeez, the stuff on this site at times.

but you will turn around and knock salido's win loss record in order to bash lomachenko.
