No, man. Teddy was saying Gamboa had blinding talent, but he never learned how to fight because of that talent.

Gamboa had heart, he just never developed proper fundamentals.

Sad thing is, he fights for 4 more rounds and he could finesse that into another 50-100k night easy. Now he taps out and will not get another fight unless it's the sacrificial lamb variety

And GBP spend some good money in that investment, now they'll have to get rid of him

Another Cuban who could be great, but was mismanaged and relied on his athleticism too much

Some poeple were saying he's a better talent than Rigondeaux

It's a shame he's done, I wanted to see Lomachenko against Garcia, Linares and Gamboa, assuming that Gamboa is still the same fighter but he isn't
you think they spent a lot of money on him? lol I don't, his career was in the dumps there was no bidding wars for him. He was not a big draw or star. He was a low risk high reward fighter they took a shot hoping he could return to form but he didnt. But he was in no position to command big money from any promoter.

I agree with Teddy when he said that Gamboa didn't just call it a night; he called it a career. It was sad to watch, but I think Yuri literally came to grips with the fact that he just doesn't have it anymore. Castellanos is a guy he would've cut through like a buzzsaw five years ago. Tonight he was getting beat up by that same guy. It's over.

Damn I missed the fight! RoCa actually won!?! Been rooting for him ever since he put that beat-down on Ronny Rios. He's truly an entertaining fighter, but it's a shame that it had to be Gamboa who had to be stepped on.

Yeah I don't think he was going to win but teddy said he had the fight all tied up on his scorecard before the stoppage. I'm talking in terms if the scorecard he was still in the fight. But he had enough didn't want to dig deep and go out on his sword and quit. You just can't come back when you tap out like that. Not sure how much money he has saved but he shouldn't fight again. If he's broke he will just be a stepping stone to take abuse from youngins.

I disagree this is the opposite of showing heart it's a quit job.
