Real Money Wagers for Alvarez vs Chavez Jr

Who ya betting on this weekend?

The main lines & some random ones below for those out of the loop.

    Alvarez -600
    Chavez Jr +450

    Over 9.5rds -220
    Under 9.5rds +180

    Fight goes the distance -140
Fight doesn't go the distance +110

Alvarez wins inside the distance +162
Chavez Jr wins inside the distance +985

Alvarez wins by 12 rd decision +101
Chavez Jr wins by 12 rd decision +735
    Fight is a draw +3000

For the non-bettors who don't know wtf these numbers mean:

a - in front of a number means that you'd bet that number to win $100. Or whatever fraction you bet you'd win the comparable winnings. So if there is a -600 line that means you'd have to bet $600 to win $100. And your bet is always winning $1 for every $6 bet whatever amount you happen to bet.

a + in front of a number means that you'd bet $100 to win that number. So if there is a +450 line that means you'd have to bet $100 to win $450. And your bet is always winning $4.50 for every $1 bet whatever amount you happen to bet.

I feel like Chavez is not a good value at +450. And, I would expect some astronomical odds for him to win by decision. +735 ain't doing it.
I wouldn't put money on this one, but if I did, I think Canelo is the sweeter deal, even at a wide -600.
I could be completely undervaluing Chaves but, looking at his history, I doubt it.

Doesn't look good to me. I'd also rather put 600 on Canelo to win 100, but I don't usually bother betting on heavy favorites. A lot of variables with size and focus for Chavez.

The extent of my ******** on this fight is taking Chavez in the NSB Pick Em, lol. I'm with Redd in that the odds just are'nt there unless you're getting really specific with your bets like Fetta. I just don't see a play I would be comfortable with that would allow me to bet on Chavez, especially seeings how I almost always like to hedge my bets. I think this is one where the bookies got you by the sack lol.

Yea tend to agree. I'm not loving any straight bets all that much on this one, but I might throw some $'s at fight doesn't go the distance @ +110 on some of my parlays for this week & with next weeks UFC.

I tend to think Canelo gets him in some follador de mala madre type fight or JCC Jr quits or if JCC Jr somehow has a career best performance & pulls a rabbit out of his sombrero I tend to expect it to be a stoppage W. And that +110 is about the sexiest most likely to happen thing to bet on that I'm seeing.

Yea, that +110 kinda surprised me. Pretty generous, IMO, especially with all the other figures being a bit sour. I think that would be a smart go on your part of you were looking to bet this weekend.

Chavez Jr looks to have properly made the weight, so I'm keeping my money in my pocket here.

Still, I think Alvarez wins the fight on skills, but am unsure how he deals with a 185lb man (born with his father's granite chin) bearing down on him for however long Chavez Jr's fitness can hold up.

Will be at the bar, tuning in
