Comments Thread For: Memo: Being the Underdog 'A Huge Motivation' for Chavez Jr.

LAS VEGAS Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. says the lopsided odds on his Mexican showdown with Canelo Alvarez don't bother him. Don't buy it. Angel Heredia, Chavez's strength and conditioning coach, told BoxingScene.com on Thursday that being a huge underdog against an opponent he doesn't like has provided plenty of motivation throughout his recently completed training camp. Alvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs) was a 6 -1 favorite over Chavez (50-2-1, 32 KOs, 1 NC) at the MGM Grand sports book Thursday night.

Lots of QUIT in soft lazy Chavez inside.

The fight is already over as Canelo wins a decision over Chavez in a good fight enabling Canelo to meet GGG in Sept and letting Chavez get another bigger fight also. Boxing is a fixed sport anyway and this fight is already set up for a Canelo victory. DUH? Bet the Canelo decision win and thank me later.

Can it be fixed? Yes but we have two guys who have had the craziest scorecards out of probably all active boxers. Who has the longer reach to influence the cards more. My money is on Chavez if it goes to the cards with no knockdowns. A trilogy with these two would make everyone endless piles of money.

Only money and fame motivates Lazy soft burro breath Chavez

Lazy soft slobs like Chavez are only motivated by cash and usually gringo cash or gold. Fame has been fleeting for lazy Chavez who is more a disgrace in boxing than anything. Money cures all woes and money buys love.

Canelo vs GGG is the biggest fight in boxing. GGG is a stallion while lazy soft Chavez is an old burro a pack mule basically an ass. Canelo on a decision win making the GGG huge. Chavez can blow up to 220 lbs and take a ten year siesta.

How about we wait to see what the full take on this fight turns out to be before we call anything the biggest fight of anything. People really underestimate the mexicans potential to spend. A one off with Golovkin will not bring in more money than two fights with Chavez but we'll see.

if there was any mex potential then the fight would be in Mexico. GGG vs Canelo is a huge fight far bigger than this mex enema fight between lousy lazy quitting Chavez and carefully matched Canelo. Mexico seems to have little appeal in America despite the millions of illegals and the other mex's here in the USA doing the menial jobs no one wants to do. Chavez is a disgrace and unworthy of any big money fight. Chavez vs GGG is the fight to make in boxing unless Joshua and Fury clash. Mex's have little appeal. Si'

They're reading jr. wrong. The guy is ready with memo on his side. Forget about the motivation of nacho or Sr, the ego, the rivalry and the pride this fight presents. When the bell rings, the best man wins. And most of the time, the most prepared fighter usually take it...and jr is more than prepared to take memo's hidden formula. That's Jr's biggest asset going into the fight. I expect a decision win for jr.
