Sometimes in English one says something, but with the tone of the voice stresses that in reality it is completely opposite. Like when you say something and finish it with "yes", but say "yes" in a funny-distorted way. Meaning that whatever you said before could not be further from the truth. Towards that end I have a theory that "doe" is distorted Russian "da", which simply means "yes".
