Gomez quickly added, though, that negotiations for an Alvarez-Golovkin fight could become irrelevant if Alvarez doesn't defeat Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in their Mexican showdown Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena (HBO Pay-Per-View; 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT; $69.99 in HD).

believe it when I see it

I think that Team Bullshht will walk away, citing unsatisfactory financial terms

that one still seems to be working

And if Canelo loses, u will say Canelo wasnt a real Middleweight. Just imagined what u would say if Chavez wins.

??? 164 isn't MW. Hey isn't this the SAME weight Ward was offered by Lil G???

Promoter Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions, who handle IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs), says a fight can certainly be worked out with WBA super middleweight king Andre Ward (28-0, 15 KOs). But the deal would have to be under Golovkin's terms and not dictated by Ward. Loeffler feels Golovkin has surpassed Ward as a ticket seller and in terms of name recognition - making GGG the A-side of the negotiations.

Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas - Abel Sanchez, trainer of WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin, has made it absolutely clear that he's not going to budge from his position that a potential fight with Andre Ward will only happen if Ward - the recognized champion at super middleweight - is wiling to meet them halfway at a catch-weight of 164-pounds. Golovkin and his team received more than their fair share of heat in recent days, after placing a catch-weight demand on a potential fight with Ward. The reason for the heat, is because Golovkin was willing to fight both Carl Froch and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. at the full super middleweight limit.

"However, negotiations haven’t been going smoothly thus far, with Golovkin’s team requesting a 164 lb. catch-weight."
