Cotto fighting bums like usual. Fought a bum knee'd Martinez after ducking him for years. Then called out 43 year of bum knee'd Marquez instead of fighting relevant fighters in his divison. A good fighter never a great one after Margarito stole his soul.

Nothing for this shop worn warrior to achieve, his last effort a spirited decision loss to Canelo was a changing of the guard. To be honest the last few years of his career were a bonus, because he was shot after he lost to Mayweather. He was matched perfectly and won a few lucky fights but it is now time to step away from the sport.

And he will. He stated this is his last year.
It's like a retirement tour. He's fighting some farewell fights. I'm good with it.
Pacquiao needs to follow suit and retire as well. And Mayweather too. If he doesn't get the McGregor fight to happen. He needs to stay away also.

To say he was shot after his fight with Floyd, though, is an exaggeration. True - he looked close to shot against Trout...but a shot fighter would not have been able to exploit matchmaking advantages as dominantly as he did. And while I agree that he clearly lost against Canelo, he didn't look like a shot fighter in that fight.
