Comments Thread For: Chavez: Canelo Thinks I'm Easier Than Golovkin, So He Picked Me

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was brutally honest with Canelo Alvarez, even if it meant inadvertently knocking himself. Chavez told Alvarez as part of HBO's "Faceoff With Max Kellerman" segment that Alvarez agreed to fight him at 164 pounds only "because you don't want to fight Triple-G."

And you chose Canelo because you thought he was easier. Let's not forget GGG was willing to go the full 168 for Chavez Jr. (but not Ward) and that never happened, nor did Chavez Jr. show any interest in making it happen!

Love Chavez Jr's honesty. GGG fans like myself are in a bit of a pickle here. Chavez Jr. is winning me over with his honesty, plus I already liked him, but if he wins, GGG will never get his "big fight," since even if Chavez Jr. beats Canelo, not many people will give GGG for beating him. Well, maybe if Chavez looks like the one that beat Andy Lee, but even bigger and better, and just looks incredible, they will, but it seems like Chavez would be a step down from Canelo.

So to potentially get the better fight in September, we have to root for Canelo. But after all the BS Canelo has pulled, and with Chavez Jr's honesty to call him out on it, I want Chavez to win. So I guess I should just try to find the positives in whatever outcome takes place, but while the fight is happening it will be hard to know who to root for. I guess maybe in the moment I should just go with who I want to succeed in the moment, Chavez, but then if Canelo wins be happy with the better result for the future. But how can I enjoy rooting for Chavez in the moment when I'm already conscious of how it will be worse for the future? Ah, the mysteries of life...

You are easier than GGG. No matter who wins. This will be an exciting fight to watch.

Chavez can't really win this fight, but if he does, I'm okay with not seeing Canelo/GGG. If Canelo can't beat Chavez, he sure as hell can't beat Glolovkin.

But this is academic. Chavez, who is an undedicated fighter with an unfocused mind, has no chance against Canelo.

Ward is one of the dirtiest fighters alive. Against Froch, he landed more elbows than punches. He does that in all his fights. He also uses his head to butt.

Everyone knows this. Ward fans are ok with him cheating. If ever a Eastern European white fighters starting doing what Ward does, they'll call racism all day. **** Ward, he's crap. Minus his fouling, he's not that great of a fighter. He seems why he throws elbows.
