Comments Thread For: Hearn on Joshua's Earning Potential, Mayweather's Financial Path

ANTHONY JOSHUA could soon be earning up to 50m a fight, according to promoter Eddie Hearn. The Matchroom chief believes the IBF, IBO and WBA heavyweight champion's earning power will rocket once he cracks America. Hearn is currently plotting Joshua's next move after he earned 15m for his win over Wladimir Klitschko and believes the US pay-per-view market will make him even richer.

Joshua wants to fight for the next 10 years, 2 fights a year as confirmed by Eddie Hearn, he'd need to make 50 mill a fight to reach 1 bill, with sponsors etc. and if he stays unbeaten of course he could do it. If he builds his name in the US and around the world by travelling abroad for fights it's possible. We'll see though, lots of variables.

Joshua could do something really unique-play the hero everywhere in the world except the USA, where he could play the evil foreigner. If he keeps winning as impressively as he has he could make hundreds of millions of dollars.

Like I've always said. You gotta come to America to become a global star. You can be a big fish on a small pond in the UK but to become an international Superstar you gotta make it here

I'm a bit disappointed by the news that he will only fight twice per year from now on (assuming he keeps winning, I guess). I suppose it would be fine if it meant that he'd face the most dangerous opponent every single outing, but in all likelihood it means he'll have one fairly mediocre fight and one big money fight per year. And considering how often injuries seem to happen at heavyweight it may end up even less than that
