Doesn't PPV's over there sell for like $16-18???

I don't know many big time UK fights or significant UK fights Showtime has ever aired live in the afternoon. But we do have examples of big UK fights on HBO that aired live that drew much bigger rating like Fury Klichko, hell GGG went overseas and fought Brook and that did what almost 900k viewers. None of these were bigger fights out there then Joshua/Klitcko. And the fact that it drew dramatically less is not a good sign.

And if you don't think having 1-2 months for showtime to promote the fight air promos during every fight over those 2 months then you just foolish. That shyt matters as clearly a lot of people had no clue this fight was on. Hardcore fans know and extra 1 1/2 does nothing for YOU but casuals didn't and that extra time is crucial. Especially when the fight airs at a unconventional time.

HOW ABOUT MENTIONING THAT HBO IS IN 27% MORE HOMES..... THATS IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE..... HBO IS ALWAYS SUPPOSED TO WIN RATINGS..... IF SHOWTIME WAS IN AS MANY HOMES AS HBO THEY WOULD BE EXPECTED TO WIN THE RATINGS BATTLES EVERYTIME ALSO..... FACTS MATTER......

Airing it live was bragging rights. I thought HBO had the better time slot too. And the fact that it was a great fight helped HBO even more.

But on the flip side HBO just promoted Showtime's fighter Now they gotta get Showtime if they want to continue watching Joshua. But it was a great night for boxing.

Showtime will be very happy with this. They have a long term contract with a guy whose numbers increase significantly with each fight, and he's not even fought in America or even primetime yet. Most of the buzz stateside has come post-fight, too.

Any Pac fan ever sht on Floyd fighting Berto needs to stop.

Berto looks like a for SURE HOFamer compared to this Peter Horn.

I DIDNT LIKE THE BERTO FIGHT BUT THIS IS WAY WORSE... AT LEAST FLOYD BEAT CANELO, MAIDANA AND MANNY BEFORE HE FOUGHT BERTO TO FINISH HIS CONTRACT..... MANNY FOUGHT BRADLEY THE THIRD TIME, THEN VARGAS NOW HORN.... MANNY THE DIRTY POLITICIAN HAS NO SHAME ANYMORE..... THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE MEDIA PROTECTS YOU FOR A DECADE.. MANNY IS THE LANCE ARMSTRONG OF BOXING

Disappointing number relative to the significance of the event. But those viewers saw a great fight so they'll likely watch more of AJ (and Klitschko too, should he choose to continue his career)

Given the box office success it was in the UK however, these numbers aren't a huge concern for AJ right now. If anything, it's an opportunity to leverage this attention by staging a fight in the states at some point.
