Comments Thread For: Hearn: 5th, 6th Rounds Showed Joshua Wasn't Ready for This Fight

Eddie Hearn couldn't have been more proud of how Anthony Joshua responded to adversity Saturday. The knockout artist from suburban London made himself an even bigger star by getting off the canvas in the sixth round and stopping Wladimir Klitschko five rounds later. Their memorable battle provided just the type of entertainment the heavyweight division needed.

Im not so sure he WASNT ready as much as a poor game plan that McCracken insisted trying to out jab Wlad ,when we all saw how effective Joshua inside game is . He probably could have knocked Klitchko out before 5 if he abandoned the cautious jabbing contest bc that only helped get Klitchko into rythm .

Who won this fight? It is crazy how the narrative is take the credit away from Joshua as if Vlad didn't want to win the fight. It is Vlad could have done "this" or Vlad could have done "that" . If Joshua was never ready for that Klitschko he will never be ready.Vlad weakness has always been fighters who fight him aggressive, who don't allow him to clinch and give him space to jab them to death. Vlad couldn't be his usual self, because Joshua is stronger and has the same size and equal power.

Honestly it just showed me he's a better boxer than I thoght he was. His head movement was better than I expected too.

Although neither were phenomenal, he was pretty good at both. I agree an inside game would've been effective but I think they wanted to avoid clinching; thinking that'd play into Wladmir's hands.

Clinchin wouldn't have played into Wlads hands bc you saw what damage Joshuas shovel upper cut will do at those close quarters ,thats why Klitchko didnt make that a priority like he usually does .

Playing into Wlads hands is exactly what he did which is why he got nailed with the powerful right .

Joshua is an exellent boxer and the best inside SHW ever who just fought a bit too cautious bc he does his best work inside 5 rnds,at 19 fights now hes going to most likely go without a loss for some time after this one !

He will know he can go 11 and that will give him even more know how when and when not to throw all out and finish a high caliber of opponent !

He wasn't ready really, his inexperience showed after the first knockdown. However he learned from that through the fight and it showed in the 11th
