Wlads never been a great finisher and he was pretty gassed the last minute of that round.

Joshua also did well to hold on when he could.

OMG.. That was a absolutely sickening shot! I was like there is now way he can recover from that!

But not only did he comeback, he came back to win with a sickening shot of his own. And people say they don't have chin ffs.

When Joshua was hands down on the ropes tired Wlad needed to hit him in the body just once...that would have been the deal maker.

^this, it was the hook that completely took the wind out of him after his early celebrations and effort to drop Wlad. Left him a sitting duck for round 6

Wlad has good one punch power.
But its hard to finish and find a one punch ko. You have to follow through and finish job.
I'm not sure if overly defensive fighters ever make great finishers? Often let people off the hook

Yeah, a fighter who is a good finisher would probably be looking at Joshua now thinking they could finish the job if they hurt him. Whyte had him rocked but Whyte simply isn't good and Wlad just doesn't have that killer instinct, as good as he is.

I think Haye is finished now anyway but if a fighter like him had Joshua rocked, i doubt he would make it out of the round. It seems AJ doesn't recover that quickly from being hurt.

Taking nothing away from Joshua though, he got through it and did the job but he was definitely let off the hook.

That's the word, killer instinct. Wlad might be good at finishing when opponents are hurt but he's not the higher echelons. Haye or wilder fit the bill more
But josh did do well to recover. Maybe it was tiredness. Better than khan anyway.
