....Anthony Joshua was apparently guaranteed $20m for the fight, with Eddie Hearn going public that the early returns on the Sky Box Office numbers are making it look like the Joshua-Klitschko event drew a bigger buyrate than the 1.15m that Mayweather-Pacquiao drew (the equivalent of $25m in Box Office revenue).

You add that RTL paid $5m for the rights for Germany, on top of the $3m paid by Showtime/HBO for the US rights, and the gate from the 90k-sold at Wembley, plus sponsors, and you've got a nice pie to divvy up.

Only way the money moves to the US is if Joshua-Wilder gets the fever high enough to be a Las Vegas PPV fight (at least 500k PPV buys matches the Box Office take in the UK, MGM Resorts will likely shell out $10m-$15m to host the fight, and the fight could still be sold on Sky Box Office, likely matching the $20m that Hatton was able to clear, etc).

Yeah I hear you but that's the British imput and one would expect that being that Joshua is a Brit. I read a different number and it was 12.5 million. Regardless, I think that the Wilder fight would produce more revenue than that.

Not sure if that'll work though; outside of Floyd being in the main event (in a meaningful fight), I can't think of a single matchup that could closeout an event that featured a fight for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world.

Obviously there is no bigger fight on the card but the biggest fight doesn't have to be last, as long as there are other good fight on afterwards it could work out. Not like it would be an all the time thing but this would be a special circumstance.

Klitschko is a legend, a worldwide star, the most dominant heavyweight of the last decade, nobody outside a couple US fans even know Wilder. WTF are you guys on about? How can you be so damn ****** and far from reality?

Klitschko is a legend but you are missing the point. It's the rivalry between the two countries that would make the fight between Joshua and Wilder much bigger. All you have to do is read these forums. Brits and Yanks hate on each others fighters more than any other country. It's a perfect storm.Think outside the box, a mind is a terrible thing to waste.
