Would it be fair to label Tyson now as a BUST?

After winning the heavyweight title and being the youngest one to do it. What did Tyson do after? NOTHING, he can thank Don King for keeping him in the game for as long as he stayed.

I would compare him to Mickey Mantle. His career was too good to label him a bust. Heck for four years he was as dominant as any heavyweight since Ali in his pre suspension years. But my god, it could have been so much more. If he had been able to channel that talent and that fury, he would have been at minimum a top 5 all time heavyweight.

          Definately not a bust.

He actually defended the title numerous times.

          He was a great fighter.

But, his time was cut way short due to his ******ity. And, of course, his original advisors dying and/or being aced out by what many would consider unscrupulous handlers didn't help him at all.

He was limited mentally. Once someone stood up to him he would panic. He had the talent to perservere, he just didnt have the determination. He was still a great heavyweight for a short period of time though.

hmm...well micky had a serious injury that limited him, yet he is still one of the greatest players of all time, while mike is just a nutcase.
              i see the comparison, though.

Not a bust, but he's ****ing overrated to the max.

People were blinded by his demeanor, punching power, and highlight reel knockouts over guys who collect garbage on Mondays. If David Tua said he was going to eat someone's children...he would have been the biggest sensation of all time.

Tyson was a great fighter. He wasn't a bust, he beat everyone in front of him and unified the titles early in his career. I don't see how that can be considered a bust.

Tyson slowly lost his love for the sport. And as his heart slowly died, so did his career. It became all about money, and eventually, even money wasn't enough.
