Yeah, that provided great imagery. I read this and thought about creating a thread but decided against it. I thought this was a really good article regarding a topic we have discussed here.
Fixed for you.
Boxing is a dead sport for the Americans.
I don't think its dead its just that other countries are making investments in the sport at a time when we are losing gyms and athletes are choosing less dangerous but more lucrative sports.

The problem the Yanks have is you're spoiled for choice
UFC
NFL
NBA
NHL
Baseball
Boxing
And am I missing anything out, I might be!
British only really focus on a few handful of sports and most of the time they never ever collide with the boxing.
There has to be a better format to somehow make things work, I'm guessing most of your league games start at later times on the day and not the times that our soccer kicks off i.e. 12pm to around 5:30pm.
Couldn't watch the video at work, but I think every honest person would agree that Brit's are far better sporting fans than Americans. I know its been said on here a thousand times, but the crowds that used to follow Hatton around and chant and sing gave me goosebumps. It creates such a great atmosphere.

UFC is popular in the uk too
Football is huge
Rugby is very popular
Cricket is also very popular
Tennis is big
Formula one is big
As for times, well the boxing is on at night but football (which is the main sport) games kick off usually at 3pm
all most American fans do is tear down fighters and yell "duck" "exposed" "hype job" etc and cant forget the race issue that's big with most not all American fans

Most boxing fans and UFC fans are split meaning usually (not always) a guy likes one or the other, but not both.
NBA is still very popular
NFL less popular than it was (last season posted among lowest TV ratings ever)
MLB still casual, but fun
NHL is mostly hit or miss (I played ice hockey so I love it)
Even after the "major sports" there are:
MLS - picking up steam in US....slowly
Golf
Tennis
Boxing
Sports are very watered down in the US imho. Boxing fails in the US because there is more than one "champion" at each weight class. Second to that are the corrupted judges.
