Comments Thread For: WBA: Joshua-Klitschko Winner Could Be Granted Voluntary Permit

Anthony Joshua could be granted a "special permit" not to face mandatory challenger Luis Ortiz. The IBF heavyweight champion defends his belt against Wladimir Klitschko on April 29, exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office, in a showdown at Wembley Stadium Connected by EE.

The ONLY fight I'd want to see more than winner vs Ortiz, is winner vs Wilder.

yep it better be for a unification against Wilder or Parker. If it is against some Pulev or some Euro stiff then no. Time for the Heavyweights to come to boxing's aid and boost it's popularity up more.

If Josh gets by Clinchko I'm sure he'd have to fight his IBF mandatory Pulev around the summer.

I don't mind that as long as Joshua-Wilder happens in the fall around November/December

The path forward is clear, and has been clear for some time.

            If Joshua wins:

-Joshua vs Pulev/Johnson winner (IBF Mandatory defense)
-Luis Ortiz vs Briggs/Oquendo winner (stay busy for Ortiz)

plan to stage the fight card for August/September (assuming no injuries occur), consider bringing the event to the US (though I doubt that there's enough money here for that), and blow out another major event on Sky Box Office/Showtime.

Fight Luis Ortiz to close out the year at the O2 Arena, and then set the stage for the next big spring spectacle (it's my guess that Wilder and Joseph Parker will end up fighting each other this year, so there's an option, and that Tyson Fury will be hopefully fight fit, so there are your options).

The door is now open to avoid Ortiz.

Parker has a fight penciled in for May, and Wilder is likely to have to deal with Stiverne by June/July.

Wilder-Parker for November/December makes far more sense.

This is just ridiculous.... Ortiz is going to get screwed again. It's this bs that is pushing me away from the sport.

I believe Joshua has to defend his IBF title against Mandatory Pulev. That can happen in the summer. Wilder can fight (even though we don't want to see it) Stiverne also in the summer.

And then the biggest fight in the Heavyweight division since Lewis-Tyson can be made: Joshua-Wilder
