This is an old Top Rank Arum trick, which also confirms that Canelo will not be fighting GGG next if he defeats Chavez Jr. How do you get your "star" fighters next opponent more exposure? You put him on the under card of the ppv for that very same fighter. Mayweather used this tactic too. Either way, Canelo GGG doesn't happen till September 2018.

Lemieux has fought on CANELO'S undercard before , nothing new Golden Boy Promotions doing a Great Job Promoting their fighter's , helping them build a legacy and getting them paid.

Lemieux will get to fight Canelo next instead of GGG...he's less of a threat and he will accept short money to fight him. Not a bad 160 fight, but obviously not the one fans are clamoring for--another opportunity for Canelo to wait GGG out until he either loses or ages out.

The people were clamoring for the fight at 155 or somewhere in the middle where both fighters would be comftorable at and while CANELO was all for making the fight for the fans, Mr. 154 - 168 Gennady Golovcan't turned down the fight , and went out like cry baby coward talking about he just wanted a vacated belt not CANELO.

Canelo fights Lemieux, it'll be another crappy fight against a C level fighter (right along the Kirkland, Angulo, and Williams fights).

There is not a more delusional fan on this site or any other who believes that GGG ducked Canelo, not at any weight. In what world does the MW champion need to give in to catch weight demands in order to fight in his own weight class against a guy who holds a title in that same weight class? GGG doesn't need to go to 155 to fight the Canelos and Cottos of the world who merely wanted a title in another weight class while passing through.

For what it's worth, GGG isn't my hero, or even one of my favorite fighters. I have no dog in the fight, but I can see right through Canelo's BS, and how he has expertly adopted the Mayweather template for success. Pretend you want to fight a guy, then move around him and fight lesser opponents until that guy is no longer at his best.

I envy fans like you who can be so easily impressed by mediocrity and excuses.
