However when someone special does emerge, said fighters tend to be forgotten.

I agree with several posters on here, Canelo's resume is slightly better. If anything I think Thurman isn't as talked about because since stepping up in competition, he hasn't beaten fighters in exciting fashion or punctuated his dominance with KO's. Especially when his moniker banks on the notion of being "one time". He just simply beats them while evading the risk of losing.

If anything I think Estrada is worth mentioning.

    Wins over:

Hernan Marquez - over the hill but solid name.

    Joebert Alverez - decent win.

Gio Segura- good win, especially since Segura was doing good on his comeback.

    Richie Mepranun - Solid win.

Milan Melindo - good win against a faster, tricky fighter.

Brian Viloria - his best win.

Loss to Roman Gonzalez - did well and made a name for himself.

Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr. - lost the first fight and beat him in the rematch in an exciting fashion.

Plus, they are trying to mount a fight between Estrada and Cuadras next. If it goes down and Estrada wins the scrap, I think his resume would be more than solid.
Estrada is a good shout, easy to forget he's still only 27

In these times of boxers turning pro so late I think only Canelo tops Thurman for the best record of boxers 28 years old or younger. Thurman has a better record than any other 28 years or younger boxer I know of.

Canelo, Juan Francisco Estrada, Naoya Inoue, and Leo Santa Cruz are all 28 or younger with better resumes than Keith Thurman.

Thurman has a good resume but don't be avoiding Spence with the excuse that he hasn't fought anybody.
Keiz, why u dont fight Spence?

It's a good record but nothing special, he could have done so much more. Not sure how much longer his prime lasts.

Porter beat thurman imo. His win over DG is good as a name but the way they both went about it was rubbish. Chaves, Collazo and Guerrero are his next best wins...and yet Khan gets shat on for beating Collazo and Algieri lol

                  Btw, what fighters are 28?

thurman is one of the best at 147 TODAY, there is a bit of a talent gap in that area compared to a few years back so if you compare him to welters of say the last 15 years then yeah he isnt chit but today he is one of the best.

the p4p rankings are pretty political too, they want the new guys to make it so they took pacquaio off pretty much after his loss to mayweather, how can you have him below all of these guys like thurman, garcia ect when its clear as day he would wipe the floor with them.
