Wow. Just read even if Chavez weighed in at 165 he still would have to pay $1 million. Wow, I thought it would be only $500,000 for that. But according to the contract even just half a pound over he has to pay $1 million, wow, that's crazy.

Nah. JCC Jr is too unfocused & unmotivated with boxing overall to ever really go anywhere impressive in boxing for very long. Even if he were to beat Canelo he'd probably be 220lbs by early June with a rematch scheduled for September. Kinda like Buster Douglas vs Tyson & then later in the year vs Holyfield.

These cats who've never went all in with anything in their life can't be made to change their stripes 1/2 to 3/4 of the way down the road very often. Not to say its not possible, cuz it is possible, but its not probable or likely.

You can damn near see the disappointment in JCC Sr's eyes when he talks of Jr that he knows Jr is a f#ck up who's been given a ton of chances in & out of boxing & f#cked up so many of them.

Whats crazy about that? If he's over 164.5 by a lb or less he loses a mill, if he's over by more than a lb, but less then 2lbs he loses 2mill & so on & so forth.

I mean obviously its an excessive amount of money, but you lose a mill per lb your over makes sense.

And the reality is if JCC Jr didn't agree to this he probably doesn't get the fight so there's that too lol.

When I read "contract is for $1,000,000/per lb I expect it to be an ACTUAL FULL lb?? Like speeding I cant imagine gettinga ticket doing 65.9 in a 65 speed zone. I figure I would get the full mile...At least.

Lol is that the Ring Magazine article Boxingscene blocked off. I saw this article there too, but it gets blocked off. So I had to change my post to the Forbes article.

I thought that if he were to weigh 1 pound over which is 165.5 that yeah he pays $1 million. But if he weighed 165, I thought logically that it would be $500,000, but damn these dudes were harsh. Chavez accepted it, SMH. I'm sure he's dreading accepting it now. Tsk, tsk, tsk
