Billy Joe Saunders "I would never go into a fight thinking I could lose. Ever – but I don’t care what money it was, I just wouldn’t do it. (fight GGG),” Saunders said to IFL TV. “If they (Golovkin’s team) come and offered me ****** money I’d sit down and I’d think – ‘they’ve offered me good money, let me have a look at him on the internet and a look at the weigh in and I’d sit there and think, ‘yeah, I can beat him.
“I’ll tell you what sort of fighter I am, I’m up, I’m straight and I’m honest. I fancy my chances with any 160 in the world. Any 160 – take him (Golovkin) out of the equation,” Saunders said. “And I’m the sort of fighter who wants to win every single fight I fight in, and I know I can beat every 160. On my day I know I can beat them all – but minus him. (GGG).”
Lara-Rather than move up to 160 and go from talking about fighting GGG into trying to make the fight he chooses to waste his time fighting the shell of Yuri Foreman. Lara is just using GGG's name to stay relevent.
Canelo-Gave up the belt because he wasn't a real middleweight in order to challenge the least talented Smith brother for a paper title at 154 he would never defend. His next fight after the Smith fight is against a guy who hasn't had a quality win in years at a weight 4.5 pounds above middleweight.
Zurdo-fights at a higher weight class but will probably get his shot sooner rather than later once Canelo shows what he's hiding beneath his skirt when he ducks GGG again.
If you can't figure out why they chose him then your wasting my time.
That mofo has no facts. He warps reality to make GGG look as bad as possible.
And I seen all your excuses above as well warping GGG into some indestructible GOD. While you sht on every other fighter to make you sound even more dumber and biased.
Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach, trainer of former four division world champion Miguel Cotto (40-5, 33 KOs), would welcome a fight with IBO, WBA, WBC, IBF middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) with open arms. [Click Here To Read More]
LMAO, Cotto paid him to step aside and almost crapped his boxing trunks when asked about GGG. It would be a massacre with Cotto getting KTFO cold.
GEE's stock has fallen so deep that maybe Canelo shouldn't even give dude a chance once he destroys Jr. On the 6th of May. (He will get ZERO credit for it)
Drops opponent, lands more punches in 75% of the rounds and wins a UD = losing stock
Only on NSB folks... that's why we love this place
While the Cotto/Canelo fight was a lot closer than the judges scored it, Canelo was walking through his punches. Canelo looked 20 pounds heavier in that fight and was never hurt. GGG vs. Cotto will look similar. Cotto would land a good amount of punches, but they wouldn't have enough pop to keep GGG off of him. Late round TKO win for GGG. As other's have mentioned, Cotto already ducked him, so the thread is moot.
It's funny Roach is saying this. Cotto to busy fighting Japanese guy, and waiting for a world class fighter to get an injured knee before he will fully commit. Why doesnt he just do the Margarito 3 fight or fight Mayorga in Nyc with the fans behind him. ? Seriously that is what his cometition is looking like recently.
He's using his name? What ****ing name? The guy can't even crack the 100k ppv mark.
Honestly, golovkin should REALLY think about this. If he fights cotto at a cw, he can make money, and it's less risk because cotto is 36 now. Canelo is young and has all the time he needs, plus I think golovkin loses to canelo. If he lost to cotto, he could use weight as the excuse.
It comes back to this again however...golovkin is going to have to know his place as the B-side, and will have to accept the A-side demands, otherwise he won't get either fight.
Have you seen his ratings on HBO's non-ppvs. The guy attracts a lot of fans. Does he have the crazy fan base who buy 300k ppvs to fight some unknown British paper champion like Canelo does? No. But just because you're not getting big PPVs it doesn't mean you don't have a name fight fans know.
As for Cotto, in case you didn't notice GGG is 35. Its not like he's much younger than Cotto. Its probably not in his best interest to start dropping weight at this point in his career.
