I don't know that anyone is saying that boxing is a "clean" sport. I was introduced to the concept of corruption in the sport when, as a kid, I caught all 63 seconds of Weaver v. Dokes. The extent of the corruption, however, is debatable.

So you watch it purely for the money? No other pleasure involved?

Sure good fights are fun to watch. But I bet more for winning than enjoying fights. Look at the horrible judging decisions that are made? Look at the fixed fights where you scratch your head in amazement-like Fury vs Wlad.
Think Garcia vs Salka? Promoters run boxing and control the sport. Boxing has no leadership and the sport is a wide open scum fest of slime and greed. Does any think Chavez actually makes weight for Canelo? Do you think Canelo can lose to Chavez? Why hasn't Canelo fought the Charlo's?? Did Ward actually beat Kovalev? Bookies were scratching their heads after Wlad vs Fury. How does one judge score a round and another judge sees the round differently?? Most boxing big fights afford fighters huge back end benefits to lose.

I agree with Wilder. This wasn't the first time Wlad had to have a fire lit under him, Emanuel did it several times. Ofcourse he's not around so it didn't happen against Tyson Fury. I think Emanuel would have gotten into Wlad's ass after round 2, as it happened, Wlad waited too long to get after Fury and by then it was too late. I was still picking Wlad to win in the rematch that never happened because all he had to do was throw punches to win.

That work in both direction imho, there's also older boxers who KO or TKO the younger ones, Ali/Foreman, Holyfield/Tyson, Lewis/Vitali, etc

About Steward, I'm sure he would have slapped Wlad between rounds against Fury!

I thought the same thing to myself that whole fight. Manny would have given him the business. His corner was a joke in the Fury fight.
