Comments Thread For: Wilder: You Don't Need Skill If You Have Power Like Me, Joshua

Wladimir Klitschko clearly is a more experienced, skillful fighter than Anthony Joshua. Deontay Wilder still thinks Joshua has "a great chance" to beat Klitschko on Saturday in London for the same reason Wilder wins his fights. Even though Klitschko can punch, too, Wilder considers Joshua's power the ultimate equalizer in their 12-round fight for Joshua's IBF heavyweight title and the vacant WBA and IBO titles.

Wow... I can't believe what this guy is saying. I had to carefully read because I was sure the headline was exaggerated. Nope. Wilder is a perfect example of how far the HW division has fallen since the days of Holyfield, Bowe, Tyson etc...

Sometimes I wonder what the hell Wilder is looking at or where he gets his analyzing from?

You don't need skills? You have to eliminate skills from the Heavyweight division? I think skills will definitely help Wilder. Joshua is more technically sound than Wilder.

I get what he's saying about having power as the equalizer.

I thought it was funny though when he said, Joshua has a little power. Lol, a little. That boy got lots of power. Wilder might punch a little bit harder. But Joshua has more "skills", he's more technically sound than Wilder.

I agree with what he said about giving Klitschko angles and not standing straight in front of him. He did have some good points, but what he said about not needing skills and eliminating skills, that made no sense?

Well, Wilder will be over there ringside with the Sky Sports team. Man, that's a lot of analysts. Showtime, HBO, Sky Sports. A lot of people ringside.

You Don't Need Skill If You Spend Your Career Avoiding Legitimate Opponents, Like Wilder.
It's no surprise that this is Wilder's opinion. His lack of intelligence is only matched by his lack of class. What other top heavyweight would have even entertained the thought of "fighting" the small, mentally challenged Charlie Zelenoff?

Wilder isnt the sharpest tool in the shed but hes right power certainly is a factor today . However ive sparred guys who actually fought him and hes VERY limited without THAT punch (overhand right)

Joshua would TOY with this guy ,end of!
