To many titles always for weak Champs and fighter avoiding the best man in the division , If there was only one Champ Floyd vs Manny would have happened in 2009 not 2015 when Manny was a shot fighter
I have a panel of me myself and i who decides who is best boxer in each weight class. Ring, lineal and alphabet titles don't mean much to me. I like unification fights because even though the two boxers involved may not be the two best in the class they are usually among the best. A fight between them brings some clarity to how the best boxers in that weight class compare with each other. The best seldom fight the best these days unless a world title is at stake.
1 belt per division = Best case scenario in fantasy land
Unification = best case scenario in the real world
LOL, but yea this for me. Does anyone member when real world boxing & fantasy land boxing were one in the same? Actually no I don't
Although I will say I only care about fully unifying belts when its tip top guys or the top two doing it. Or partially unifying when its two non-#1 guys doing it to try to move up in the hearts & minds of fans & pundits.
When its the #1 guy vs the #7 guy with the last belt (kinda like GGG & BJS) I understand the move & I can't sh^t on it all that much, but I'm usually not excited about it. I'd much rather see GGG vs Canelo who is his perceived biggest challenge at the weight. In the case of Crawford vs Indongo where Crawford is #1 by a country mile, but Indongo is #2 I'm still interested in that type of full unification. If Indongo was the consensus 5th best guy in the division I don't think I'd give much of a f#ck about unification, although again I'd understand it from the Crawford & Arum POV to try to set it up.

This probably sounds crazy to some people & you might even be being sarcastic here idek lol, but you kinda gotta have this sorta mindset as a boxing fan today cuz who does anyone really trust for rankings anymore?
Even casual fans know the abc groups are garbage. Ring is in Oscar's pocket. Fat Dan is sorta an idiot & biased so his rankings don't mean much. Lineal is bs when guys like Big George, Stevenson & Canelo have abused the honor system of that belt with defending it vs worthwhile challengers at least some of the time. Boxrec is about the most objective you can find, but its computer generated so there is always quirks with that type of sh^t. The TBRB rankings are about the most legit for me now, but who is really paying attention to them that matters in boxing & why should anyone care about any specific rankings anyway when they are a dime a dozen in boxing?

oh you see the problem Floyd was already a Lineal Welterweight champ by 2006. Pac was only a Super Feather back then.
fast forward to 2009 and little Pac had knocked out Cotto.... and someone didn't want particular testing...
Seems like Pac wasted Floyd's time all these years

Funny you bring up testing who was the one masking steroids with an IV . Floyd wanted no part of Manny In 2009 this was a away to back out of fighting a prime Manny

So when Roach admitted their fault for not making the fight in 2009 because of testing....
"Prime Manny" was nothing but juicing. Flyweights getting KO'd earlier in their careers and then moving up with that HGH in the Philippines. #48 could stand no chance with Floyd, with or without Toradol
