Foreman was a big, strong lumbering HW who gassed himself out and was successful beating up on smaller opponents. Norton didn't turn pro until 26 and was never considered a great HW and still technically beat Ali twice. Ali at 6'3" towered over many of his opponents.

Go to look at some of the no-hopers on his resume. Then check the resume of his opponents. Frazier was really his biggest and best wins and they took as much out of him as they did Frazier.
You can't state an opinion and call it a fact. That's a dangerous game. I'm speaking on the "fixed" fights claim. Frazier beat the closet version of a prime Ali for what it's worth.

Also, it's pretty much a general consensus the Ali was champion in the two strongest eras in HW history, while in and past his prime. If you can go through Ali's resume with a fine tooth comb, Tyson's would only require a rake in comparison.

And for the record, I think Tyson blows Frazier out. Not like Foreman but the same end result.

Do I think he is a top 10 heavyweight of all time? Hell No. He never beat a great opponent. He lost to Holyfield and Lewis. He couldnt even beat a Buster Douglas who is no way in hell a Top 15 heavyweight. I'm pretty sure if you placed Ali in that era that he would've beaten both guys(even though I feel they would've beaten him too had Ali offered them a rematch) Skills are important don't get me wrong but who you faced matters as well.

Out of curiosity who are your personal top 10 Heavyweights of All Time.

I know with many people it's subjective. Many people's list will have about 5 or 6 of the usual names we always see and then the rest may vary on opinion.

It's pretty interesting. I'll also share my top 10 as well.

I'm not debating, I just find different opinions interesting.

If you want to talk records, let's have a look at Ali for a moment:

Two fixed fights with Liston, a gift versus Doug Jones, Ken Norton III, Shavers, Young and Chuvalo II, old faded Moore and Patterson who were much smaller, struggled with Wepner, lost to Spinks with 8 fights. Sliced glove versus Cooper. Frazier was much smaller as was Quarry, Blin, Chuvalo, Coopman, Lubbers, and for some reason fought Bugner 2x.

Start looking at the records and size of many of his opponents and who they fought and suddenly the so called greatest doesn't look so legendary inside the ring.

Was wondering also with you as well Ghost. What are your top ten Heavyweight boxers of all-time.

Just interesting to see everyone's opinion. I'll name my top 10 as well.

I'm not debating just interested in seeing different points of view and opinions.

Tyson's best wins were Holmes and Spinks. Holmes is an ATG but he was old and coming off two straight losses. Spinks was a 175 pounder.

He lost to Douglas as a huge favorite in a great fight.

When he fought ATG Holyfield, he was handled twice. And it was all down hill from there. His resume is not impressive, but he grades well on the "eye test" due to his blowout wins against lesser opponents.

I could see Tyson KOing Frazier early due to his size and power advantages, but I could also see Frazier beating him up and breaking his will the same way Holyfield did.

Everyone who thinks it's a foregone conclusion Tyson would win in a blowout also thought he'd run through Evander.

people always talk about Tyson not being tough.

I have seen Tyson take ridiculous punishment over the years from the likes of Holyfield, Douglas, Lennox Lewis etc....... but I've never seen Tyson get blown out like Frazier was against Foreman X2.

Tyson is not only faster, stronger and more skilled....... he is also tougher. believe it or not.

he cleaned out his entire division and unified the titles.

he fought many good fighters and all the way to spinks never looked like he lost a round

I lean towards Tyson by stoppage early but if Joe somehow makes it past the 5th round he would grind Tyson down. Im having a hard time seeing Joe making it through the early assault though.
