Hiya folks, this is pretty much the first post ive done on the boxing bit lol. I just wanna ask you all - do you think larry merchant is annoying??
I cant decide if im being too hasty on the guy or not. I dont call myself a massive boxing fan like the rest of you on here but ive become quite fond of the sport because my boyfriend Elgaringo is a huge fan. I love Ricky Hatton and have been to see him twice and I love watching the big american fights (im from the uk). One example is Oscar and Mayorga - I am, as most female boxing fans are, a HUGE oscar fan so i was glued to the edge of my seat with my adrenalin pumping. When the fight ended after Oscar kicked his ass I was buzzing then all of a sudden little Larry came on the screen and started droning on and on and...........on. Blah.....Blah.....Blah.....Blah!!!
Does anyone watch Malcolm in the middle? Eat your heart out Stevie!!!

a lot of people think hes annoying, he talks really slowly. I like what he adds to the coversation and stuff, but i wish someone else were saying it.

Most people don't care for Larry Merchant because of his attitude and tone. I didn't like him at first because I thought he was an ass and disrespectful to the fighters. But the more I see him ( or listen) the more I am getting used to his ways. I have even come to appreciate his approach since I think he is one of the only boxing commetators to cut through the fighters' hype and bs and make them be honest. If they got hteir butt whupped he says it. If they won against a very overmatched fighter, then he will try to humble them a bit. And hey, look at it this way, he makes us laugh with some of the ridiculous things he says.

Thats a fair point ya got there, he is a no nonsense kinda guy its just a shame it takes him about 3 hours to get his no nonsense point across!
