The FOTD award is like the NBA MVP award, it loses value when it's given to guys that are not truly the best. When we look back and see Steve Nash and Derrick rose as MVP when Kobe and lebron should've won it will always be tainted. Same as FOTD. Hopefully the voters don't devalue the award anymore when they vote for those in the current decade.

yea it loses value when they gave it to someone who is not deserving but i'm pretty sure from 2000-2009 fighter of the decade they gave the award to the very deserving one and it's not even close.

I think this is the most HIGHEST award to be given to a boxer because it's very hard to achieved. You have to be dominant from 2010-2019 to become the 2019 FIGHTER OF THE DECADE.

A lot can change from now and then If GGG can go unbeaten til 2019 and Ward along with Lomachenko can do the same, I think It will be a very tough call, but It would likely be between Ward and GGG due to the politics I think Ward would probably get it.
