Why do people keep on saying AJ has a weak or "suspect" chin?

Why do people keep on saying AJ has a weak or "suspect" chin?

Is it only because of the Whyte fight?

AJ has only been stunned once as a pro. I mean anyone can get rocked, especially if you get caught with a punch you don't see coming like what happened againts Whyte.

He's also only been punched once.

Because Price mentioned he badly hurt and nearly knocked AJ out cold in sparring back when AJ was an amateur. AJ admitted that Yes that happened. AJ was young and green at that time back then. Some other rumors came out right before the Molina fight that Laurence Okolie the 2016 Olympic Cruiserweight badly hurt AJ in sparring as well. So in addition to Whyte, where he got caught with a left he didn't see coming, but to AJ's credit recovered. He has these other sparring stories come up, with the Price story being confirmed.

I wouldn't worry too much about that though. Klitschko's chin is shakey also. Klitschko has been knocked out or floored by Ross Puritty, Corrie Sanders, Lamon Brewster and Sam Peter.

Other Heavyweights like Deontay Wilder also have a shakey chin. So most of the Heavyweights are evenly matched in the chin department.

It's an easy thing to say. The truth is there's heavy fire when heavyweights fight. People get hurt and a lot of heavyweights lose by knock out. AJ is popular, so he will get hate, and like I said, taking about a suspect chin is an easy one, especially when you're getting hit by 220lbs men.

I've seen amateur fights where he was hurt & those were the headgear days. And typically I don't believe chins can be improved THAT much. That said I think Joshua has a dedication to his craft & improving that he's put his chin at less risk in general which will led to less opportunity for his chin to be exposed to those punches that could hurt him/take him out.

Then again these are HW's too lets not forget that. Almost everyone could be considered to have a suspect chin til proven otherwise vs 220+ lb mfers who've shown some KO ability & Joshua has fought slim pickens among 220+ lb mfers who can KO world class opposition.

Klitschko will likely tell us something about Joshua's chin if this fight lasts a few rounds & Klitschko isn't shot/doesn't fight like he does vs Fury. I don't think Joshua presents the style that'll led to Klitschko fighting like he did vs Fury, but its still a legit question if Klitschko is shot pre-Fury or even post-Fury now with how long he's been out of the ring & his age.

lots of sparring stories, hes been hit by one good shot in his career and it had him doing the harlem shake. not seen it but apparantly his chin was less than stellar in the amateurs.
