Comments Thread For: Erik Morales: Chavez With Edge in First Half, Canelo in Second Half

Mexican boxing legend Erik "El Terrible" Morales analyzed the upcoming grudge match between countrymen Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. The HBO Pay-Per-View fight takes place on May 6th from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Canelo, who never fought beyond the weight of 155-pounds, will move up to 164.5-pounds for the contest with Chavez Jr.

Yeah, I agree with Morales pretty much. First half Chavez, second half Canelo. After melting down to 164.5, I agree, if Chavez makes it to the second half of the fight, his gas tank will virtually be empty.

Oscar musta threw Morales some money or called in a favor for this comment. Chavez Jr doesn't nor shouldn't have any edge in any round let alone in half of the fight, first or last half. That's nuts.

The interview wasn't translated fully or accurately. Morales went deeper in his analysis.

I'm with you on this one. That's why I think this fight is going to be just about interesting as the Castillo vs Corrales.

I'm having a hard time imagining this fight. Chavez has a big size advantage and Canelo fighting way higher than usual.

Honestly, I think Chavez sucks. He's a boy fighting a man's sport. His size will make it ugly though. Canelo stops him late after a shaky start.

                    I agree with Morales.
