Solid win for Ellis, a rematch could be fun. Either way, I don't think Ellis is ready for any real contenders yet. He needs more gatekeeper types, James Stevenson, Raymond Serrano, Danny O'Connor etc.

Yeah he still needs work not ready for top contenders yet. The gomez fight was great how he iced him in the 1st but this fight and how he had to dig deep will serve him more in the long run.

I agree, I think the quick KO made it appear that Ellis was a little further along than people though while this fight proved he still has a ways to go. But, this fight should help him improve a lot more than the Gomez fight. He certainly has talent and upside, hopefully they don't rush him too much and allow him to develop at the proper pace
