    Miscalculated Scorecards

    I copied this paragraph from ESPN website (authoran Rafael)=>

    Incidentally, miscalculated scorecards are nothing new. In the Jose Luis Castillo-Stevie Johnston lightweight title rematch in 2000, Johnston was declared a majority decision winner to regain the title only to have it discovered that (coincidentally) Morita's card had been added wrong and that he really scored it a draw, thus allowing Castillo to retain the title. Two other examples: Mark Johnson was awarded a victory against Rafael Marquez in their first fight in 2001, only to have it actually have been a split decision win for Marquez; and the 1998 junior middleweight title bout between Winky Wright and Harry Simon, which was initially ruled a draw, allowing Wright to keep his belt, before it was corrected to a majority decision victory for new title holder Simon.

    This Morita guy should be banned from judging. I thought Barrera won the fight, but it can not be a coincidence that two title fight's scorecards can be screwed up by the same guy. They should investigate him and keep people like that away from the sport.

      how about when it is 1. miscalculated.....yeah right....the photo of the barrera scorecards displayed manipulation in the round scoring of round 10....and then it was the "miscalculation"..........to me it was them going back and cheating and then of course if you decide to change a round, you'll have to change the final score also.........

      verdict = corruption

      conclusion = either way barrera looked crap and was owned

        He looked beaten towards the end but Barrera was outboxing him. All it took to win some of the rounds was just a jab.

          I knew right from the start after seeing the fights the judges scored prior to this weeks bout that something fishy was going to happen. I just got done telling my buddies how all the fights they showed the judges scoring were controversial and that I bet something is going to happen in this one and boom draw?!? I was like what the **** Barerra won that fight by atleast 3 rounds! And once again it was an HBO controversial decision like we always get.
          But I'm glad it was overturned and Barerra got the Win he deserved
