    Canelo vs Lemieux

“If for whatever reason that fight doesn’t happen, David [Lemieux] would be in line [to face Canelo in September].” Eric Gomez, Golden Boy source: ring TV

They have a plan B for the inevitable change of plans. Good fight regardless. Lemieux has more of a chance than Chavez.

Not a bad fight, but they are obviously putting GGG on ice until he ages out or loses to someone else. I see Canelo taking on Lemieux, Saunders and maybe one other MW before even considering a GGG fight.

If GGG-Canelo doesn't happen in September then Golovkin has ****ed another year in his career, which is a huge blow at his age.

Lemieux is always fun to watch but I think Canelo has a lot more options; both bigger and safer.

Correct on GGG. His team should have had an agreement in place prior to canceling the bout with BJS. If that falls through, he screwed another year waiting…

Lemieux is much better than Chavez but Canelo should still beat him. Lemieux is a great puncher but Canelo has a great chin and rarely gets hit flush on the jaw. Canelo has a vicious body attack that would help defeat Lemieux.

GGG should of taken the 15m offer for Golden Boy. Lemieux was put on the undercard for one reason and that's insurance and leverage against GGG who already turned down a large offer and was talking about fighting BJS in June. This was direct reaction from Golden Boy for plan B if GGG doesn't agree to their terms for Sept then Lemieux will slide in for a career payday and win that lottery ticket for Sept and GGG will have to wait til May 2018.
