Comments Thread For: Oscar Valdez Hungers To Face The Other Champions at 126

WBO featherweight belt-holder Oscar Valdez defends his title this Saturday night from the StubHub Center in Carson, California, versus the tough Miguel Marriaga. If Valdez had his way, he'd be involved in fights against the other world champions in his division like Leo Santa Cruz, Lee Selby and Gary Russell Jr.

Would like Valdez vs Leo Santa Cruz. The best chance there is Valdez vs Shelby. Wished these Champion had the guts to figh Lomachenko when he was in this divison.

None of the champions want Valdez because he's to big of a threat and doesn't bring enough money for those guys to want to fight him.

Valdez would be favored or even with all the champions in the division.

Him vs Russell Jr would be a fire of a match up!

He should target Lee Selby aka The Welsh Adrian Broner, Valdez would smoke him!

Hum vs Leo is a tough pne now that Leo has improved since

Valdez better focus on Marriaga, this guy is no joke! I think Marriaga is more of a threat than some of the other champs, he is a rock. This is going to be a good fight...GO Valdez!...

Stop. The reason he isn't facing these guys is because Arum won't make the fights. None of the other champs are afraid of this guy. HBO rejected the fight and instead of going to Showtime, Arum made this a PPV. Stop with the BS.

I'm a huge fan of Valdez, but Marriaga will be a big test for him and give us an idea of how close he really is to some of these more experienced champions.

Agree. I think this has the potential to be a fun fight & for sure is the best fight of this weekend. Those Columbian cats got power in general + Marriaga is the bigger guy. I could see both guys touching canvas here.

That said I still favor Valdez cuz he's the more skilled guy + has the better W's, but Marriaga is a live as f#ck dog & a solid low risk high reward bet (somehow he's +760, which means he has about an 11% chance to win by sportsbooks, which is wayyyyyy too wide imo).
