You want good dependable gloves? Than use Everlast 2212 Pro Style Training Gloves. I use them myself and there very reliable. There also 12oz. If your as big as you say you are. Than why the hell you using 16oz gloves?

Because I'm really not trying to severely hurt anyone...and If I'm quick in the 16oz gloves...I'll be faster with a lighter glove or bare fist!

You be a monster with 12oz gloves on. I'm not saying go hurt somebody on purpose, but every time you put gloves on for a fight you take that chance.
