The WBC Rules Say A Champion Should Strive to Make at least THREE DEFENSES A YEAR

A champion who does not defend his title within the 90-120 days of winning the title shall forfeit his title, unless otherwise permitted by the WBC in its sole discretion. They also say that champions should strive to defend the title every 120 days. Boy, the exemptions are piling up.

Has any WBC champion followed this rule? Like, ever?

Danny Garcia didn't. Golovkin hasn't. Wilder hasn't. I don't recall anyone doing this. They give a pass to everybody apparently.

No wonder champions fight once a year when they are held to no standard.
