My argument is that it's not the A side vs. B side that often determines bad judging - it's the style.
That whole fight pretty much shows this. Even in the promotion that claimed it was boxer vs brawler when they are both boxers. Really ******.

I agree with you, I just don't think it has anything to do with the "Protection of the A sides", which is the title of your thread.

It's going to be funny seeing Wlad Klit, one of the biggest abusers of an A-Side standing, being treated like a B-Side against Joshua.

He won't be able to get away with his absurd clinching with these British referees in Hearn's pocket

One of the biggest indulges for an A-Side fighter is clinching. Why referees tolerate it, I have no idea. Well, I know why but why some fans accept it as a tactic is a joke. It's nothing more than an easy, ugly option for the A-Side who cares little but for winning. Meanwhile, the boxing fans have to sit through a stop-start fight with no rhythm, after months of anticipation.

        Wlad-Povetkin still gives me nightmares.

As with most problems, it's probably a combination of things.

I have a bigger problem with the fans accepting it as anything other than cheating. I'm a Wlad fan and I know he was wrong for the Povetkin fight. Should have had more points deducted for that mess.
