Comments Thread For: Showtime to Air Joshua-Klitschko Live; HBO Gets Delayed Telecast

Showtime announced a considerable boxing victory over HBO on Monday. After a long battle between the premium-cable rivals, Showtime essentially revealed it won a bidding war with HBO to secure the U.S. rights to televise the Anthony Joshua-Wladimir Klitschko heavyweight title fight live April 29 from a sold-out Wembley Stadium in London. HBO will air a same-day replay of the Joshua-Klitschko fight April 29.

Fat Dan said they're getting about $3M total between the two. Showtime paying more for the live rights.

That's almost a certainty in the US. A mid at Saturday scrap will not outperform Saturday night unless there's some huge captive audience like the post olympics Spence card

I had to watch Fury v VK mid day. That's not happening this time.
