Actually, blacks and whites fought one another even more decades prior. Going back to the days of Joe Louis, Ray Robinson, Henry Armstrong, Emile Griffith, Marvin Hagler, Bob Foster, and all of the old time greats. It hasn't become a problem or a divide until the Mayweather era, where a certain cluster of black fans (mostly casuals) had an arrogant, ****y, very wealthy black man to live through vicariously.
