no network is looking to be to the rival of shobox or friday night fights. The are not enough hardcore boxing fans to succeed. I think pbc should stay with showtime/cbs and maybe fox or spike. They need to narrow down the networks, the only problem with that is that they will need more dates because haymon has so many fighters under his umbrella! Thus far in 2017, pbc is the face of boxing!

great point.... Cbs/showtime and fox/sports do the best job of producing and promoting boxing..... Even spike with some selective fights can be good.... They got so many channels in the beginning because you can only get so many dates on each channel and pbc has a lot of fighters...

yeah, lets blame the media and not the sub-par quality of fights.

they have been saying pbc is dead since 2015 december and pbc are the ones who have given boxing fans the best fights the past 2 years..... Pbc is also the only boxing company that is not ripping off fans with ******ed ppv mismatch after mismatch... Like golden girl and top prank do on the regular.... The difference is steve kim is actually a golden girl employee and calls fights for them... Thats why his head is soo far up oscarina and mario lopez ass.....

seriously, why is this even a debate? Why wouldn't someone want more boxing on free television? Why does this deal ending make some people happy? I am genuinely perplexed.

same reason millions of racist americans were pissed at ***** for giving millions of americans free/affordable health care.... These people just dont like the person doing this.... If this was done by the mexican coke sniffer golden girl oscarina the whole boxing world would bow down to him and call him a genius....

the success of recent pbc fights likely priced spike out. Surely there were escalators in the extension that they didn't believe were worth pushing bellator back for. Good business decision.

im a big pbc fan but giving spike lara vs foreman probably didnt help matters.... Haymon should have gone out of his way to give spike the better fights because of the 6 figures they gave pbc for every show.... Lets hope they can work something out in the future once haymon gets his money back from espn....

The Spike statement is fairly empty, but it does make something clear

Spike isn't interested in a long term contract w/ PBC, but they will televise the right fight.

I think this is the best approach. A long-term contract w PBC gave Spike some good fights -- and some garbage.

I always felt that guaranteed $$ can lead to mediocre performance. Better to require your partner to continually deliver good product, each and every time.
