Marquez needs to train a couple of world champs, then give some advice. El que sabe no dice, y El que dice no sabe.

I have to disagree, this is juan's opinion and he has been in the business forever, not as long as nacho, but even "al mejor cazador se le va la liebre a veces"..He knows and tells, that is literally one of his jobs if i am not mistaken, him being a sort of analyst for golpe a golpe..And his record shows a thing or two about training and knowledge.

I don't think Chavez trying to bail had anything to do with some strategic advantage for speed. He just lazy more distractions at mexico city and nacho put an end to that. Good for him
I will give Marquez his respect and the benefit of the doubt, but I think he is wrong on this one. Nacho is with Jr. every day so knows what is in Jr.'s mind and we should defer to his assessment. There are more distractions in Mexico City and other negatives that can't be outweighed by whatever minuscule increase in speed that Jr. might gain. I think that Jr. has already lost the fight in his mind. Quite frankly, I am a little puzzled that Marquez would even weigh in on this. Chavez Jr.'s fans and supporters must be getting the vapors or at lease having second thoughts because Nacho was clearly annoyed by Jr.

The distractions elsewhere were the primary reason Nacho wants to keep Jr up in the mountains IMO.

Marquez is right the man has trained with nacho his whole life and knows these techniques and he said it himself that the altitude o ly helps you with condition and power Chavez needs speed more then anything in this fight. And you cant gain speed at high altitude he ready did his strength and conditioning in other words. You get in a habit of punching slow and hard like ggg you get best of both worlds.

Marquez makes a lot of good points. He has worked with Heredia numerous times and he knows all that weight lifting already leaves you tight and very slow. Chavez jr. already doesn't let his hands fly as much as he should, if you can have him looser and more comfortable its better, and I think people are forgetting that speed is power. Plus there is the ease of weight loss as Marquez mentioned.

The issue here is one that happens often, the trainers think they know how to best condition a fighter, and I can tell you from 10 years of experience that most simply don't.

The bug comment isn't literal, it's a saying Mexicans use when trying to explain someone doing something strange or out of the ordinary (like Chavez suddenly wanting to leave out of nowhere) though it would be funny if it had been a bug bite which scared him off lol
Completely agree that he'll have way too many distractions if he leaves, knowing jr he'd ruin all the work he's put in by doing something ****** in one night lol

Truly hope JR can stay focused these last few weeks and hopefully win come May 6th!

You can't turn into a speed demon overnight. Jr'd be slow as molasses no matter where he trained.
