Why is Larios vs Pacman PPV?

pacman is a great fighter but i dont think this fight should be PPV. Seeing that most people felt Oscar vs mayorga shouldnt of been ppv they must be on my side on this 2. who is airing this fight and how much is it going to be? hopefully it wont be to much, this fight is one that should be on hbo or something. Is the fact that its in manilla play into it.

Suggested retail price is $39.99. Oscar is a PPV fighter, he will never not fight on PPV. People are now saying pac is a ppv fighter, not sure if thats true, but you will definitely have to get over paying to see oscar live.

Pac is one of the most exciting fighters in the sport.

If Barrera vs Fanna was a PPV, I have no problem with this being one.

It's actually a very good fight. Larios was considered fringe #4# material before the cuts loss to Vasquez.

it's PPV because that's the only chance we'll get to see it live in U.S. HBO decided to not telecast it bcecause of fear in Philippines on going problems. LOL!

Hey, Larios has a better chance of putting up a good fight compared to Mayorga. It'll be a boxer for boxer/puncher(more on puncher). Shouldn't be as 1 sided as Mayorga fight was. You can expect an all out war though to break loose and cmon, it's going to be housed back at the Ali-Frazier colossium! This will be on an epic stage, even if it doesn't turn out so epic. It'll be worth it. Compared to the usual PPV crap that's been spit out.

In boxing, it's all about dollars and cents. If it don't make dollars, it don't make senses. De La Hoya is the biggest non-heavyweight draw since Sugar Ray Leonard, able to generate astronomical money and interest in his fights. To illustrate, De La Hoya packed the El Paso Sun Bowl for his three round destruction of no hoper Patrick Charpentier.

Similarly, Pacquiao has a large following making him a bankable commodity in the sport. Manny Pacquiao, because of his hero status in the Philippines, has one of the biggest fan bases in the sport. It also doesn't hurt that he is the most exciting fighter in the lower weight divisions. When a fighter has that kind of following, he is almost a certain sell, particularly when he fights in a strategically selected city.

The Pacquiao-Larios fight was supposed to be broadcast on HBO World Championship Boxing, but following a coup de tat scare in Manila, HBO pussied out. Without a network to support the card, they had no other choice but to broadcast it as an in demand PPV.
