Damn this is devastating, I read some of the interview with his wife. He looks in bad, bad shape. One night completely destroyed his livelihood and his family.

This can be a dangerous sport...a deadly sport even when things go perfectly. There shouldn't be any margin of error with commissions sanctioning mismatches &/or officials not stopping mismatches earlier when a commission does sanction it.

When two top tier talents fight I think you gotta let things play out within reasons, but when things aren't level as they often can be I believe safety should be a higher consideration than finding out who's better that night.

same day check weigh ins, stop these guys cutting weight who are past their prime and stop younger guys coming in too big like eubank. Groves could also have made the ref stop it rather than prolonging it? he didn't throw the finishing flurry. Most fans don't want to see a highlight reel ko, so I don't know why the refs didn't stop it, both bad incidents were channel 5 fights, you would have thought they'd have been more cautious after the blackwell incident.
