Comments Thread For: Arum: Sergey Kovalev Request For Neutral Judges is Ridiculous!

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum has a message for Sergey Kovalev (30-1, 26 KOs)... stop complaining about American judges, saying officials from the United States are just fine for Kovalev's rematch with Andre Ward (31-0, 15 KOs). The Ward vs. Kovalev rematch is scheduled for June 17th at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The first fight took place at the T-Mobile Arena, and Ward on a twelve round unanimous decision with three identical scores of 114-113. The win gave Ward the IBF, WBO, WBA light heavyweight world titles.

"Sergey Kovalev has fought in the United States his whole career. He's made a lot of money in the United States"
Shows you how Arum thinks, "basically you're a foreigner getting paid in our country so take your money and stfu".

Arum would hate neutral judges for his bouts, it would wreck his whole business model.

Kovalev has fought his whole career in the United States, but judges weren't a factor in 98% of them because he stopped almost everybody. He has to do the same in the next fight.

        It's kill or be robbed.

Did he have neutral judges for The Chilemba fight?

Also, you guys have to stop stating opinion as fact. A fair amount of people thought Kovalev won and a fair amount saw Ward winning. Most people seem to have it a close fight either way which doesn't constitute it being a robbery.

No need for sensationalism. It doesn't change the outcome.

Was there a request from chilemba for neutral judges?

The first fight wasn't an outright robbery but its a decision that doesn't sit right with me. I find it hard to believe all three judges felt like Ward did enough to take the belt from the champion because that's not what I saw that night. Looking forward to the rematch I just hope for a definitive result either way.

So the judges are ok in Vegas, Mr. Arum?
How did you like the judging on the first Bradley/Pacquiao fight?
